Ground chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, and Spicekick Lettuce Wrap Seasoning Mix combine in these yummy homemade chicken potstickers! Chicken potstickers are much easier to make than you think, especially with the help of our Spicekick Lettuce Wrap Seasoning, which contains all the flavors you crave, including garlic, ginger, sesame, mustard, and shiitake mushroom powder for that deep, umami taste.
Ingredients
-
1 lb ground chicken (or ground pork is also delicious)
-
1 TBSP soy sauce
-
1 TBSP dark sesame oil
-
1 Spicekick® Lettuce Wrap seasoning packet
-
40 wonton wrappers
-
2 TBSP cooking oil
-
1/8 cup water or broth
Directions
In a bowl, mix together the chicken, Spicekick® Lettuce Wrap Seasoning Mix, soy sauce and sesame oil with a fork until combined.
Place 1 tablespoon of the filling onto the wrapper. Do not overfill; you want to make sure the sides of the wonton completely seal the filling inside.
Use your finger or a brush to wet the edges of the wonton wrapper lightly with water.
Fold together the top and bottom edges to seal into a triangle (or semi-circle if your wraps are circular). Continue until all potstickers are assembled, only pulling a few wrappers out at a time to avoid drying them out.
Place 2 TBSP oil in pan on medium-high heat and cook potstickers in batches, frying a few minutes until golden brown.
Add 1/8 cup water or broth to the pan and cover to steam the wrapper dough, about 2 minutes. Then remove the lid to brown each side of the potstickers.
Serve with soy sauce and enjoy!
Recipe Note
You can also garnish with green onions or edamame, and try a dipping sauce if you'd like, such as the following:
2 TBSP soy sauce or tamari
2 TBSP rice wine vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
A pinch (or more!) of red pepper flakes
You can freeze your extra uncooked potstickers and enjoy them later! Just place in zip bags with wax paper or parchment to keep them from sticking together. You can pan fry, steam or even use your air fryer to cook them.
