What is Carne Asada?

Carne Asada is a marinated and prepared steak that is simple, fast and delicious. It translates to “grilled meat.” Whether you are a seasoned chef or just starting out, this recipe will be sure to impress.

Ingredients for Carne Asada

To make this recipe you will need:

The Spicekick Taco Seasoning Mix is the perfect addition to this carne asada recipe and features cumin and coriander just to name a few spices! The seasoning mix is gluten-free and has no sugar added.

    How to Marinate Carne Asada

Marinating carne asada is so simple! First you coat the flank steak with the Spicekick Taco Seasoning Mix. Place the steak in a shallow container and sprinkle on the lime and orange juice. Simply turn the meat a few times to coat it well. Then, put it in the refrigerator for 2-5 hours.

How Long to Grill Carne Asada

Preheat the grill on medium heat. Grill the steak on both sides until medium rare. This should be about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness. After removing from the grill, allow the meat to rest for 5 minutes.

    How to Cut Carne Asada

When it’s time to cut the meat, you will be slicing “against the grain”. Did you know that those fine lines that you see in the steak is known as the grain, which are muscle fibers? By cutting at a 90-degree angle of the lines in the muscle you will ensure a tender piece of meat.
